..and how it helps
cut a perfect window aperture |
| Hook-on bevel cutter with
retractable blade for cutting the window |
|
Variable depth control, start/stop
indicator, comfortable grip that fits the shape of the
hand. Comes assembled for right handed use but is fully
reversible for left handed use.
The uniquely designed Longridge cutter means that the
blade glides through the mountboard without requiring
any real physical effort producing a clean, accurate cut. |
| Hook-on vertical cutter with
blade guard/parking rest for cutting the mountboard sheet
to size |
|
|
| Packet of 5 blades (Ref L
030) |
|
Bevel and vertical cutters use the same
blade. Blades are reversible. |
| Base with specially treated
non-slip surface and facility for squaring the mountboard
sheet to size. |
|
The base holds the Guide Rail securely
in position, making work easy and comfortable to control.
The integral squaring facility on the base ensures that
mounts are cut square from the original mountboard sheet.
The channel in the Base accommodates the vertical cutter
blade when cutting the mountboard sheet to size. |
Non-slip 480mm (19") Guide Rail
|
|
There are two end caps with finger lifts:
one has a round hole, one a slotted hole for easy location
onto the base pins. Two rubber strips on the underside
of the rail further prevent any twisting movement of the
mount.
The Guide Rail has two moveable cutter stops and one moveable
mount stop. The mount stop prevents the mount moving while
the bevel edge window aperture is being cut. The two cutter
stops are moved along the Guide Rail so that the cutting
positions are preset before the cut is made. They also
prevent over-cutting in the corners when cutting the window
aperture.
Since the positions of the cutter stops are set prior
to cutting the window aperture, by simply turning the
mount around means the stops are already in the correct
position for cutting the opposite side of the window.
The combination of the cutter stops and the mount stop
make cutting several mounts of the same size is extremely
quick and easy. |
| Marker Gauge with pencil for marking out
window borders |
|
150mm (6") scale with metric and Imperial
measurements. This makes marking out the border more accurate
and efficient than using a pencil and ruler. |
| Screwdriver for adjusting blade depth and
mount stop position |
|
|
| Retractable steel tape measure |
|
|
| Protective mountboard cutting strips |
|
To achieve a crisp, clean bevel cut, the
mount must be supported. This is achieved using
a spare piece of mountboard that also protects the tip
of the bevel cutter blade when cutting the aperture.
Failure to support the mount in this way is likely to
result in a poorer quality, ragged edged cut.
A mountboard strip, trimmed to a convenient size is provided
for this purpose. |
| Instructional DVD |
|
Easy to follow instructions on how
to use your Longridge Mountcutting System to produce professional
quality single bevel edge window mounts. As well as simple mounts, instructions are also included on more advanced techniques and also on V groove decoration - please note that earlier versions of the Longridge mount cutter are not suitable for V grooving.
The DVD is multilingual in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. |
| Colour of components may vary

The Longridge cutter can be set for either right
or left handed use, however if both right and left handed
people will be using the same System, then we recommend separate
bevel cutters set for each type of use. Details are
given on the mount
cutting accessories page.
We recommend using a push action as it is safer. However,
if you prefer to use a pull action, then the blade should
be set for left handed use if you are right handed (and right
handed use if you are left handed). Take extra care if using
a pull action that the cutter is prevented from causing injury
at the end of the cut, especially with the vertical cutter.
